4.1 Creating a New Post

Posts are time-based content entries, typically used for blogs.

Post Elements:

  • Title - Post headline
  • Content - Main post body (Gutenberg blocks)
  • Categories - Organize posts into topics
  • Tags - Descriptive keywords
  • Featured Image - Post thumbnail
  • Excerpt - Short summary
  • Author - Post author
  • Publish date - When to publish

4.2 Gutenberg Editor

WordPress uses the Gutenberg block editor for content creation.

Block Types:

  • Paragraph blocks - Text content
  • Heading blocks - H1-H6 headings
  • Image blocks - Images with captions
